I am a lead vocalist, and this song is positively in my arsenal! I actually have a video of these guys on Dick Clark's show. April 29th 1967. My parents were born in the summer of 1976! My grandparents were in Vietnam at this time! I understand that these guys broke up about 6 months after this song! That's a shame! God bless Don Agrati ( one of my own, Italian!). Also , Don Bracht whom died very recently!

I remember singing this song inquire for Christmas performance We were in middle school just discovery things that could be seen differently. Dirty words and stuff like that. No one could take this song seriously because everything sounded dirty. Ever since then I always hear this song and I’m like damn this song could be so dirty.

Listening to this after my weedman received my telepathic message that I needed to buy

This is not the 1961 Version as in correctly stated at the beginning of the video. This is the original 1950 versio which I have on an old 78 . I also have the 1961 version which appears on the LP the best of Ruth Brown. .

My sister and I used to do dance class when we were younger. For our last dance recital, my sister and her dance mates danced to this song for their ballet number. Not only that but their teacher did something that no other dance teacher had ever done before: in the middle of the song, the dads came out and danced with them. It was the most sweetest and precious moment I had ever seen. The audience was in for a rare treat/surprise; half of them did not even know that the dads were going to be coming out and dancing with their daughters. There was not a dry eye in the auditorium that day, and everyone was clapping and cheering (as well as saying “Aww!”). Whenever I listen to this song, I still tear up because it brings me back to that day when my dad and my sister (as well as the other dads and daughters) danced to this song. 👨‍👧❤️

Kay Starr has such great intonation, and at a time long before autotune!

Worked in retail for 8 yrs & this song would come on all the time. Yesterday was doing some last min grocery shopping & was singing along & it made the elderly gentleman in the asle with me so happy that I knew every word 🤣❤🎄

Words cannot describe how incredibly much I hate this song.
